With a method from the University of Turin, Italy, malocclusions can be treated in milk dentition and early mixed dentition (all first molars erupted). Treatment is done with a removable appliance regarding the occlusal plane and the mandibular joint (Fig. 1, 2). The metal bite plates influence the occlusal plane and position the jaws.

Removable Appliances

• Plates for the upper or/and lower arch for expansion
  
  
• Removable appliances with simultaneous effect on the upper and lower arch (functional appliances)

These appliances put the jaws into a new position to each other. (Fig. 3).
